Dad I know how much you love more than anything for Mags, Seth, and me to spend time together, so I know you were thrilled when Mags came to visit us on April 29 and left May 8. It was so wonderful to have her here. We are currently hitting the low point on the emotional roller coaster of an international assignment, so it was just so nice to have her here. Plus, we did live together on and off the year before we came over here, so Billz and I have really been missing her.
We met in Frankfurt late Thursday evening. Mags got there SUPER early in the morning and spent the entire day exploring the city on her own. You would be so proud of her!
We left early the next morning for Dublin.
On the flight... almost there!!! Aer Lingus is the bomb, btw. The sunglasses I am wearing are courtesy of Maggie - they fold up!!!!
Once we touched down in Dublin, we realized we didn't have a big enough car for three people and we definitely needed the extra insurance! So we gave Billy a minute to get used to the steering wheel on the right side, and AWAY we went! We spent the whole ride to center city Dublin yelling LEFT LEFT LEFT LEFT and CURB CURB CURB CURB. Hahahhaha. It was a blast - it reminded me of when we rented that houseboat in SC and you had to call the Coast Guard.... "May day may day 10-4 10-4" hahahahaha.
We had to indulge in a little duty free jäger, so Billy went out to get red bull while Mags and I checked in and unpacked a bit.
Billy is ready to get the party started with the wanna be Red Bull, SHINDIG!!!
With the jäger and Shindig on hand, we se off to the Dublin Castle:
In the Celtic garden...
We wanted the cheapest thing on the menu - we ended up with a chip sandwich. Hahahahha...
We went back to the hotel to get ready for a night out. I tried to dip Maggie while dancing - I ended up throwing her into a wall...
River Liffey...
Billy and his buddy...
Back in my younger days, I cannot deny that I was over the top and ALWAYS got the party started. Now that I am in my late 20s, getting the party started is a less frequent occurrence. HOWEVER, in Dublin and Limerick, Mags, Billz, and I BROUGHT THE PARTY. The dancing/Singing party that you can see occurring behind Mags and me was started by US! Whoop!
The next morning we were up one hour earlier than we thought (different time zone), so we had extra time to explore an INCREDIBLE market in the Temple Bar area. We enjoy fresh juices, crepes, and amazing pottery (pottery is becoming my weakness).
AMAZING CREPES!!! We got a goat cheese, spinach, tomato pesto crepe and an egg, cheese, bacon, mushroom crepe to share. AWESOME!
After Dublin we set off to Kilkenny. Billy had a rough night in Dublin, so Mags and I enjoyed a bloody mary and visited Kilkenny ourselves. Great castle!
Billy joined us in the park for beer and pizza :)
From Kilkenny we traveled to COrk. We took it easy in Cork with a visit to the local fair. I had forgotten how much fun rides are! Everyone here had on Adidas track suits... like for real.
Blarney Castle... definitely one of my favorite sites.
Billz exploring the castle.
Billz ready to get intruders!
We set off towards the Beara peninsula and the Ring of Kerry from Cork. We stopped in Kenmore for a little site seeing in a cute Irish town... this was right before the joined in the rally cars! There happened to be a rally car race or parade or something as we were driving through. Somehow we ended up in the middle of it, and it was hilarious. We were already making fun of Fast Five the entire trip, so when we had the opportunity to Tokyo drift, we were 100% down. It was terrifying in the Irish mountains going so fast, but it was so fun and absolutely hilarious being in the middle of alll of the rally cars.
Out in Limerick... another wild night...
We brought the dance party AGAIN! Billy doesn't dance quite as good as you Dad, but he gets down!
We find our way to EVERY market!
Bunratty Castle...
Cliffs of Mohr!
My man in Doolin.
The BEST seafood chowder I have ever had...
The inevitable fish and chips!
At our B&B in Doolin - Mags had french toast with homemade syrup, B had smoked salmon and eggs, and I had a variety of local, organic cheeses and fruits.
Sweeeeeetie.
My breakfast!
Doolin - one of our favorite stops.

Moooorrrreeee cliffs...
Billy and his donkey... so Billy has a love of Donkeys. He has developed a love of Donkeys in me as well. So we see a donkey out in a field by himself. Billy hops out of the car, jumps the fence, and runs to the donkey. He pets him, plays with him, and says goodbye... only the donkey is not ready to say goodbye. So he chases Billy, nudging his arm and back the whole way. Once billy is back over the fence, the donkey lets out the most hideous cry I have ever heard. It was funny and sad all at once. Billy and his donkey.

I saw a blog where a young woman writes to her Dad. I can still remember how excited my Dad was about me going to California, and I can only imagine how proud he is of me now. Therefore I think I am going to start writing this blog to him.
Dear Dad,
I hope you enjoyed getting to see Mema again two weeks ago. It was ridiculously difficult saying goodbye to her because it brought up so many memories of you and feelings that I wasn't ready to feel again. I really wasn't sure whether to return for her funeral or not. Although I know you would want me to be there for Aunt Ann, so ultimately I decided to go. I am so thankful that I did. I didn't realize how much I missed Aunt Ann, Leigh, Cindy, Aunt Gail, Aunt Lula Mae... and of course Mom, Seth, and Mags... until I got there. It was so difficult, yet cleansing - if that even makes sense.
My sweet, sweet, sweet cousin.

The women of my life.... LOVE
When I returned from the US, we had a four day weekend for Easter, so Billz and I took off for Berlin and Dresden. Dad, I loved loved loved Berlin, and I think that you would have too. I can't help but always think about how much trouble you and Billy would get in together if you were with us. He seriously has your sense of humor. Berlin was just full of so much history I couldn't even drink it all in... and Dresden was beautiful!
